Photos of Plantation Grove Folks, 4th Quarter
We have a diverse group of residents here in Bradenton, Florida at the Plantation Grove MHP. Different educational backgrounds, different work experiences, different races, ages from 55+ (at least one person in the home must meet that age minimum) to well into the 90’s.
We have several families who are originally from New York, others from Maryland, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachussetts, Ohio, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Georgia, Indiana, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Arizona, Nevada and a couple of families (including myself and Peggy) from Oklahoma. In addition, we have a fairly large delegation of folks from all accross Canada, a few from England and one family from Puerto Rico.
There are some 267 manufactured homes in our community. Estimates are that from May to early December only about 60 % are occupied by the owners (some may be occupied by temporary renters). That occupancy jumps way up during “The Season” (late December through early April) when our “snow birds” come back. The organized activities here in our park naturally decline or cease during the summer months, then things get very busy after Thanksgiving.
I’ve said all of that to say this: the leaders here have quite a challenge in trying to cater to the interests of such a diverse group of people. But we have some awfully good folks who rise to the occasion and give a lot of time and energy toward making our very nice park an even better place to live.
If you come here for a visit or a tour, here are some photos of folks you might just meet. My hope is that these names and photos will be help new residents put names with faces and make friends faster. And it also may help jar the memories of those of us who have been here a while but have never put a name to some faces in a way which would stick and be helpful.
I hope you enjoy this digital visit with our residents.

Well, folks, that’s about it for this time. My plan is to publish another set of photos of Plantation Grove residents at the end of each quarter.
I hope you have enjoyed the ride.

P.S. To our friends up North: We celebrated Christmas with a record temperature of 85 degrees. On the next day, we set a new record for Dec. 26th with a temp of 86. Hey, y’all come on down.
