Our Trip to Missouri and Nebraska
by Stan Paregien Sr.
On our recent month-long venture out west, we began by flying to St. Louis on August 11th. There we had lunch in St. Louis with our son, Stan Jr. and his wife Becky and with their son/our grandson Daniel. We spent the night with them and then Becky kindly took us to the airport on her way to work early the next morning.
As a child, Peggy stood beside the same oxen in Kearney in 1952 or so.
Peggy had been a childhood friend of Eddie Lee (above) back in the late 1940s and early 1950s when her father, William W. (“Woody”) Allen, preached for the Church of Christ in Kearney. Many years later, Eddie became a preacher and wound up preaching for the same congregation in Kearney until his retirement a while back. Eddie and Dee invited us to stay with them for the two nights we were in town. They were gracious hosts, and we were glad to make some new memories with them.
They are shown here looking at photos back from that ancient era, including these:
Next time we will show you a few of our photos from the Colorado portion of our “epic journey to the West.”
